Extending the wiring length between ballast and bulb.

I'm trying to squeeze more lighting above the relatively small hood space of my 46 bow.

Due to space limitations I'm trying to retro-fit a Current fixture so that ballast will be below the tank and bulbs and reflector will be above. To to this I need to extend the length of wiring between the ballast and the bulbs. Should I be concerned about loss of wattage due to a longer wire run (about 6 feet)?

Any thoughts?
