F-ed up sump design, please help!

I F-ed up my sump design and need help aquaring a feasable solution to fix it.
As you can see in the photo the sump is 6" off the surface of the stand.
I originally wanted to put the pump on top of the sump to save space and make my sump larger.
I am now finding out I can't mount the pump on top of the sump.
My only options are to raise the sump off the stand or somehow get the pump above the sump. There is no room on the sides for the pump.
Any fixes out there?

Could you try building a stand that the pump can sit on and place it on top of the stand.

FYI you need to have the sump on a totally solid surface.

I would use a submersible pump.

You can also build a support so that the pump could go below the sump, or a partition inside of the sump to create a dry area for the pump, or put the pump on top but you will need to be creative with the plumbing to make it work with the pump above water level.

If you put the pump on top, you will need a syphon arrangement to be sure the pump volute stays full of water even when it is off, and a way to prime it when you remove the pump for maintenance.

Could I put a check valve at the bottom of the sump, that way, when the power goes out the pump will stay full of water?

you're right it's f-ed up! is there any space to the front of the tank? if so then put the pump in front and plumb it from the front of the sump.

I think this would work. I would use slightly larger diameter pipe and you will need to be certain that the sump water level never gets below the intake. Also that the plumbing including the fill cap seals air tight.

Code:
fill cap
*
******pump*********    to tank
*                 *    *
*                 *    *
*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~*~~~~~sump low water level
*                 *    *
*                 ******
ball valve

To prime you would need to close the ball valve and fill the plumbing using the fill cap. Replace the fill cap and open the ball valve fully.
