False Perc Clown hosting Goniopora

My false percula just started hosting in my Goniopora coral. I'm kinda worried because the coral is so fragile. The coral has been doing great so far. Anyone have any experience with this? Should I have reason to worry?

I do...I put my pair in the sump for 2 days so that I could set up a little 20g holding tank for the clowns because they WILL kill it and lo and behold I come home and the clowns got sucked up into a pump in the sump..I felt bad.

You will have to choose.

My clowns move from one area of the tank to another, irritating the hell out of my corals as they go. They recently picked at my toadstools base, cleaning it to spawn, until the thing tipped over. So I made that inaccessable and now theyre hosting an unhappy frogspawn.

Basically clowns hosting any LPS is bad for the coral, especially frogspawns, torches, and hammers, because of their sharp skeleton and fragile flesh. It also depends on how rough the clown is with the coral, somstimes its fine. But if they host goniopora and it doesnt extend to eat, its in trouble. Id say move the coral, put it on the other side of the tank, they probably wont follow it. If they do, move a few things around, eventually theyll leave it alone.

I have experienced this, when my cinnamon clown harassed the hell out of my Goniopora Stokesi. I eventually had to trade the coral off because I couldn't catch the fish, and the coral ended up becoming so irritated that its tentacles/polyps were retracted most of the time.

My clown killed my goni. You need to do something. It seemed fine for a while, with no noticeable affects to the goni, but then it started to get bad after a few weeks. Now, my clown has decided to irritate a rock (:D) and sometimes my zoos :(

WEll, my false perc has taken it a step further. She recently took to trying to kill my recently accquired Platygyra colony & trying to host a Welllsophyllia brain. Clowns can be bad news for LPS, but most esp. for Gonipora. Yes, you will have to make a choice..
