Every day when I turn the lights off in my tank for the night, my two clowns stay at the top of the water. Should I be worried? thanks alot Matt

Probably nothing to worry about. Mine used to do that as well (until they found the anemone). They have been with me for about 4 years now.

The only possible problem would be low oxygen. In the Aug. 2005 issue of reefkeeping magazine in an article titled "The need to breath, part 3" there is a discussion about a 10 gallon clown fish tank that got very low in oxygen at night and the clownfish started hanging around the top of the tank.

Here is the article

Go down to the discussion part of the article near the end and read the write up about tank 1.

I have 2 false pecs they do the same. I also have a maroon which has started to chase the other 2 to the top. I have had a green BT that has split about 8 times or so I don't understand since there is enough BT's to go around the maroon is just taking over.

I have own two set of s true perc and now one set of maroon clowns, all at different times. All did this until they found something to host in the percs accually hosted in large hairy mushrooms and the maroons have a RBTA. It is true clown fish don't need a host to survive but this is not natural, in my opion to give any clown a proper life they need a host and unfortunately there is no garrenty what they will host, you can try doing a search to see what people have success with, right now my friend false percs host in a large leather umberela
