Nope, I believe he said it was the Forest Fire.

FWIW, Every large vesuvious I have ever seen tend to brown out in the middle. They are really nice and bright when they are small or towards the outer edges on new growth, but they don't stay that way when they get 4-5" :(
.
I know the trick to not getting the brown in the middle. Its a secret one day I might share:strooper:

Yep, Montiporas have a special place in my tank. Even though its small, the appleberry is also one of those corals your eye gravitates too.

I agree. Its also one of the slower growing montis in the tank.

I'll expect a PM shortly if you know what is good for you :uzi:

Crappy camera can't bring out the colors like urnace can but its the brightest in my tank, I need some setosa to compare. :)

urnace I like how you photo tag color matches lol.

Thanks! Most of my pics are with a crappy 4MP Nikon, taken top-down. I couldn't take a good pic through glass to save my life.

Where's your monti from?

Karl,

Your monti is the slowest growing monti I have ever seen. The small frag that I obtained is still just that....a small frag. :D

Hey James - Yeah, Sang (Maximus) would call it the slowest growing SPS in the hobby. I think the Hawaiian Punch is slower, though, but that just could be me. Does anyone have a big piece of that?

Dustin - That's a super male lyretail anthias.

BTW - I get a lot of complaints about ebay and online vendors selling them Orenji's that look bland (still great deals, though). If it can't be traced back to Mike at The Captive Reef, it's not the Orenji. The Orenji should look like the pic in person. Even without actinic (and I never run actinic):D

The Orenji is one of those corals you not only need to own to appreciate but also growing it out to appreciate.
