Morph Forest Fire

Changing the name from MFF to My California and charging $10,000 per single corallite. Its an inside joke and please don't take it serious.

That frag came from my mother colony and placed in a friends tank. His chemistry was slightly off and that was how it looks in his tank.

It looks exactly like the piece at Aquatic gallery in their display/for sale tank right when you walk in. They said it was the forest fire and that the guy he got it from has an awesome elos with t5s; so I assume they were talking about you:D I thought the coral looked familiar. Definitely an awesome piece. Do you have a mother colony shot you could share?

Is the red polyp on green base monti that you posted one of the new Aussie pieces that has been coming in a lot lately? It looks very nice as well.

Both are correct. That shot was taken from the tank at AG. The coral morph again after they fix the chemistry.

Right again. That red polyp undata are the same piece coming from Aussie. I have mine under low light and med to high flow. I had mine under med and high light, and the colors were very dull.

Here's a recent pickup.

Has anyone seen this one? In lower light, the base turns yellow, but in higher light, the polyps become neon purple.

Well not a single, but does this count?

This is a top down of 4 of my Monti's, they were all about 6" apart when they started.

Nice shot Poseidon!!

I just went through this thread from the beginning and man was it impressive. It was almost like I forgot how many awesome Montis are out there.

Updated shots of my Sand dollar. Plating pretty fast theses days so I had to give it more room and move some surrounding corals.

Yep, The base can turn really yellow as well. Mine began to branch out and the tip got a green sheen to them.

Interesting on the green sheen. Yeah my does a lot of branching, kind of like a digitada. But this one is different, just because the polyps resemble those of danae, veraccosa.

Yep, The polyps are exact. That is why I was dissapointed when mine started to branch. I gave it to a friend of mine as it grew a bit too fast for me once it took off.

rigleautomotive,

What lighting is your rainbow monti under? high, medium, low? I have one that currently looks like a superman and hasn't started its rainbow effect yet. I hope it is a rainbow monti.

Its under pretty high light,6 inches or so directly under a 250 watt radiums in a lumenarc with strong random flow.Dont feel bad though ,i have had an appleberry for a couple years that never got the nice blue polyps despite me trying it in several different light intensities and flow amounts.
