same thing happened to me a few months ago but i dint realize it was a feather duster that bored its way into my acro, so me thinking it was somekind of pest (aefw or huge redbug) i started poking at it trying to get it out with a needle and next thing you know i have like a 1/4in deep cavity in my frag! Im looking at it thinking *** and i notice another one towards the base, this time i watch for a awhile and watch a little hand come out and realize what it was and kind of felt bad for the the little guy i just skewered and gutted......so i left the other one alone and so far it has done any harm and the frags doing well but i do wonder if the one will turn into more ?
