feeding my mantis shripm

I just got my first mantis shrimp yesterday. He is so cool. He moves around and is curious about everything. I have reasearched the mantis shrimp for about a month and i fell pretty confident about caring for one. He is in a 10 gallon tank with a whisper filter. I have built him a little cave out of live rock and he really seams to like it. The only thing I have a question about is feeding. How long should i wait before i feed him. I tired to feed him today but he did not seem interested. I was wondering if this was alright. He is a clown mantis and is about 4 in long. If anyone could give me feeding tips I would appreciate it. By the way I tried to feed him dried krill. The guy that helped me at the fish store said that he would eat that. If anyone could help i would appreciate it.

Setup sounds okay, just keep an eye on the water quality and the mantis should be fine. I'd suggest trying frozen krill rather than dried. One of my O. scyllarus adored thawed krill and will ignore thawed silversides. The other adores silversides and ignores krill. They have their own preferences, you just need to try various things until you learn them.

The mantis should settle in pretty quickly. both of my girls walked around a lot and even took food from tongs the first day.
