Feeding Nori-How Much Is Too Much?

I have a new 3" Foxface who loves Nori. Also have a lawnmower blenny I've had for about 7mo. I have always put a 1x1" piece of Nori attached to a clip into the tank daily and it would last sev hrs with the blenny eating it. Now with the Foxface it lasts about 30min. Should I replace it as it is eaten? They also eat whatever I feed the other fish. Is it possible for them to overeat? The blenny has a little potbelly as he has always been quite a pig!

You can very well overfeed your fish.

That said I would feed a larger piece of nori daily and see if your fish starts looking overweight. If so then just back off.

IMO nori should be the stable in a rabbitfishes diet. I use to feed a ~ 3 by 5 sheet of it daily to my rabbit.

As you can see below in my "Current Tanks" I have a Majestic Angel, 2 Yellow Tangs, 2 Blue Hippo Tangs, and a Lawnmower Blenny. I feed them a full 8x10 inch sheet of nori every day, and they eat it all.

I would say increase the ammount that you are feeding them until it lasts for acouple hours. The main point in useing nori/seaweed in a clip or rubberbanded to a rock is it provides you fish a chance to "graze as they would in the wild, all day long" and this is not happening if it is all gone in 30 minutes.

Some may disagree ith me but that is my opion and it is doing great for me. My fish just sim around all day and every so often stop by and take a mouthful of nori, looks like it pleases them to beable to graze though the whole day.

I feed my yellow tang, powder blue tang and foxface two 3"x3" pieces od nori on a clip every other day. On the days I don't feed them Nori, they get formula two pellets so at least they're still getting their green stuff.
