Feeding Time

I have seen some people ask how do you feed your small clams.

This is what I do. I put some tank water into a small bowl and add a little DT's just enough to make the water light green and place 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" babies :) into the bowl for 20 minutes and then back into the tank.

hey barry..looks just like how I do it :)

seems that my clams like it quite a bit, I put a bit more phyto in though but i do 20-30 mins too....coloration seems more vibrant..

BTW, that big boy is getting some nice sparkly greens/blues around the edges...i wonder how its going to change if any :)

Sultant, I do the feeding that way about 3 times a week. :)

Jason, I have found out with T. Crocea that the longer you have them in your tank they will become more vibrant. I got a few a week ago and when I got home and placed them in the tank I wasn't very happy with the colors but now since they have been in the tank for a week, their color has really started become a deeper rich look.

toptank-

Thanks for sharing! It seems like a easy way to feed. Do you still add DT's to your tank? If so, how often?

Skeeters,

I am trying something new called BioPlanton by LiquidLifeUS that is suppose to be better than DT's as it has several types of algae in it. The owner asked that I try it for a while to see how I like it. So far it seems to be well excepted by clams and SPSs. I put it in 3 times a week into my display tank and DT's in my clam holding tank.
