thought you guys might be interested in this chap I found wandering around a sea wall in the Philippines - they seemed to be relatively common - I did find two sharing a burrow but couldn't get a shot. I have some pics of two species of spearers as well that I'll put on once I've edited them properly

what are those claw thinggies used for? I heard that the mantis uses them to rip apart prey, is that true?

yes he's a very vicious monster! tearing everything in his path! actully i've seen my guy use them for digging, moving rocks they are like his lttle hands they grab food... ect ect.
