Firefish stung by bristle worm

I just noticed her out of your cave and she has a lot of spines from the bristle worm stuck on her including her eyes. Her fins are torn up a little and now she disappeared. Will this kill her? Help thanks

I doubt that bristleworm spines would cause deterioration of fins..perhaps your fish has parasites or fin rot/bacterial infection??

yes I know. The fin is from it being out in the open and my wrasse nipping at it. But it did have tons of spines on its body. Does anybody know if its deadly especially on a small fish?

Nope, mine does it every week or so, and gets a beard. One day the silly firefish will learn not to bite the 10-inch bristleworm. They're both citizens of the reef, they both want the same burrow at night---and I wonder which has less sense. ;)

The bristles will drop away on their own in about 3 days or less.
