first rics, t5s

I am wanting to get my first rics for my 90 gallon 24" deep tank. I have a 4 bulb tek fixture, so 4X54. I have 2 aquablue and 2 blueplus.
My mushrooms open up better near the bottom of the tank. When first put in, they seem to do better if slightly shaded.
Should I put the rics on the very bottom of tank? Should I try to find a slightly shaded spot? Does it matter if they are near the ends or middle?
I wouldn't think my tank is too bright with just 4 bulbs, but I don't want to cook anything. Thanks!

I have a 55g with the same lighting setup and I keep mine at the bottom. Any higher and they just don't seem to look quite as good (a little higher is okay but i don' t put them in middle-top area)

as long as they open up fine and don't show any sign of decline i'd think you wouldn't really need to shade them unless you have some really fussy ones. The other factor to look out for is flow- low to medium seems to do fine for these guys.. any stronger and they might try to detatch to find somewhere more calm
