Fish death

Hi all,

I introduced two fish to a mature tank recently, after quarantine. Suddenly one of my longest standing fish, a foxface, died suddenly. No typical signs of ill health (ich etc)

I have over 20 fish and just the one died suddenly - has anyone ever seen this or experienced it?

I introduced a tang and a small trigger, with zero signs of aggression for over a week before the death

I am sorry to hear the loss of your fish. I know it is frustrating as I've the exact same thing myself over the years. But with the what you've mentioned it is impossible to say with any certainty what the cause is. Keep in mind our understanding of fish diseases and our ability to test and diagnose them is incredibly limited.

One possibility is uronema marinum. Although it usually causes skin ulcers it might not always show externally. I want to emphasize this is only a guess!
