fish died what could be the cause

i came home today and my blue damsel fish died.i have had him for at least 6 months or so always ate food like crazy and grew twice in size.him and the marron clownfish always battled every now and then but nothing crazy.the only thing i noticed today was my ph went up a little today when i opened all the windows.my ph is usally 8.0 to 8.1 when light are on.i just checked it its at 8.3 .i do drip kalk at night and usally keeps my ph at 7.9 or so during the night and i dont drip during the day.its just weird it was heathy and eating good and showed no signs of hidddng or swimming weird,then bam dead.

Its a damsel AKA Pest! some live long and others bite the dust early! get caught in the pump? and could have stressed out. Hard to tell what happened!
