Fission Skimmer in 24 Gallon Aquapod

Ok so I just started to build my reef, I have a 24 gallon aquapod with 20 lbs of live sand and 22 lbs of live rock in it.

My question is, where does the skimmer go? It doesn't fit in the overflow, and when I turn it on, it creates so many bubbles that it clouds the heck out of the tank...

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Thanks in advance

hmm ive read alot of people saying that the fizzion skimmer sucks because it creates way to many micro bubbles... i dont believe there is a way around it, but i could be wrong.

There is a way around the bubbles. I remember reading it about a few days ago. Umm something to do with the powerhead that runs it. I have the same skimmer but im getting rid of it because I hate it.

I have no problem buying another skimmer, but what do you reccommend? I can't hang anything off the back due to the lid fitting tightly on the top of the tank...

*scratches head*

I agree with the bubbles issue, this skimmer is a pain. Lucky I really don't need it yet since I am just beginning to cycle a new tank...

Most people that I know just got rid of it. The skimmer takes a little to break in also. For the bubbles to die down a little but they arent just going to disapear.

Ah.

I guess I'm going to have to cut the back of the lid to fit another skimmer on there :(

I guess mabye I should have bought the pod with the HQI lighting, that tank could accomodate a hang on back skimmer and other stuff

I got rid of my fission for my 24 pod, it's extremely "water level" sensitive. After hours and days of frustration I decided that I would just do small water changes every week. I buy 5 gallons of water for a buck a gal. from my LFS once a week.

petermai did some fiddling with the Fission and says he has it working really well, do a search under his screenname and you may get some tips.

As far as the HQI 24Pod, I considered that as well, but I may just remove my hood all together and keep it as a open top and maybe buy the 150 or 250 HQI from aquamed.

good luck
