flame angel on hunger strike during hypo

got 2 clowns and 2 gobies i put the angel in the main and got ick foolish me got the salinty down to 1.009 - 12% for about a week and a half no spots on all fish , all the fish eat but i noticed the angel is not eating, i also noticed before i dropped the salinty he was pooping alot, now i dont notice and poop on the bottom, any help is welcomed

Your angel fish is stressed out from the hyposalinity. I would recomend you to raise the salinity back up to the safe range and then use copper-based ick medication.

i thought copper is very bad for angles,i do have cupermine ready to go, just thought he would be ok in hypo conditions

I don't think your angel needs any more treatments. Angels are sensitive to copper based or copper medications. I wouldn't worry as much about ich as I would parasitic copepods or parasitic worms.

It is also possible that your angel is stressed out from the size of your qt tank.

It's true that copper is stressful on angels. But it won't be super stressful if you follow all directions. If you feel copper is stressful for angels, you should use a medicine called Attack-Ich. It is organic and is so gentle that you can use it with invertabrates in the tank. In addition, your fish needs more treatment. 1 and 1/2 of a week of treatment is not enough. You need at least 1 week of treatment with medicine or 1 month of treatment with hypo. Letting your fish try to defeat ich on its own without treatment is equivalent to you getting smallpox with out treatment-------in other words, most fish die from ick without treatment.

the angel is in a 25gallon qt tank and i am not going to treat with copper, i will raise the salienty up to around 1.010, and see if he eats

My angel fish didn't eat in QT for the first three days or so. He came around eventually.

2night i fed him angel formula with sponge in it and planktoon he nibbled at it but not much i also dosed the food with garlic, he was in my main eating and pooping like a pig then the ick came and i put all the fish in a 25 qt tank he did fine for the first week and and a half but the last 2 days he stoped eating and pooping, i am going to raise the salinty up to see if that is the stressor
