The flame stands out way more, you can't get any more red then that.I would have one if they didn't nip at corals and clams.

Well I don't plan on any clams, and Im gonna take my chances with my future corals. I like taking risks :)

My vote goes for the flame. Its hit or miss with those, but judging by the results of the poll, looks like flame is the favorite.

I think as long as you have hiding spaces for your fishies, it wont matter.

I remember my flame was agressive to my blue angel until she got bigger then the flame. Then she laid off.

As long as everyone has a territory, I think they all live in peace.

IMO--(From reading all these post) I think the CB is more hardy, but if you can find a healthy-net-caught flame then the flame. It is more colorful. My flames is about 3+ years old now. I have never had a CB angel, but they colorful too. Both are hit or miss in a reef. LOVE my FLAME though. He is hardy, active, amoung the first to feed, and is not bothered by my yellow tang (which is very mean).

Just looking at liveaquaria's Flame list. what's the difference between a Christmas Island flame and a Marshall Islands flame?

If you read their description it says that the colorations diffur, the Christmas Island ones are more orange, with thinner black bars, and the Marshal are more red with thinker black bars. Im leaning toward a Marshal, and was actually thinking of getting him from Liveaquaria. Anyone else get their flame fro LA?

I have a flame and he picks like crazy at my clam. It looks like I'll be getting rid of the clam since I won't have to take down my whole tank to catch it.

Other then that my flame was been really great. Picks at live rock all day long. Eats just about anything.

Personally I don't like the coral beauty. I'd rather have a Potters.

It's a tough choice. I have both and I love both. If you can only have one, flip a coin.

I have both in my 55g, they get along great, despite what I've read everywhere.

Cool I've got a 55 too but no room for both :)

go with the coral bueaty they are so beautiful looking espically when you really feed them a nice diet to make the colors stand out. The purple in mine glows. And the orange is bright and really stands out.

I have to say after this thread I still don't know. I used to be indecisive, but now Im not so sure :) I would probably just get the Flame, but Im overly paranoid that it's not hardy enough, and worried about Cyanide poisoning etc...

I wouldn't worry about cyanide poisoning I don't think there is a lot of that coming from the Marshall islands or Christmas islands. That is more of a practice coming out of the philippines and indonesia, and from what I have heard and read it is slowy being phased out. Still happens but not like it used to be.....

Flame. Hands down one of the most beautiful angels out there - I like CBs, but if you're looking for that one fish that will really 'pop' there's nothing like a bright red flame angel.

Ok I think I've settled, Flame it is, or course it will be a little while I have to get a Cleanup Crew, since my tank is like 3 months old and I still don't have one, and want to get a RO/DI first I've been using the AP Tap Water Filter, it works well, but is not very economical.
