Are flame scallops hard to keep?I know that they need feed a lot, said preferably live brine shrimp.I had also heard that they do not contain symbiotic algae,is this true?Or would they just be a meal for fish.
I think they prefer a lot of phytoplankton. They don't tend to fare well in an aquarium. Usually end up burying themselves behind your liverock, never to be seen again.
I asked several questions in the thread trying to meet the needs of the flame scallop that I had already purchased, but it died after being in my tank for about 9 months.
That is a good thread, too bad these guys are so hard to keep 'cause they look so cool.
I was going to try one, hoping to get by w/ just heavy green-water target feeding, but, after reading this, I'll wait untill I have rotifers to even think about trying to keep one of these cool inverts.
