Flatworms! what are my options?

Red flatworms have moved in. I've got them pretty much everywhere from live rock to my refugium. I've read a little about them here and there but was looking for some personal experiences people have had with them. I've vacuumed them but seems like they are never ending. We just added a sixline wrasse today, we'll see how that goes. Does anyone have any input, ideas, know how, etc. to get these out of my system?

thanks,
Jer

You might try Salifert Flatworm Exit. It is said to work well and you can always get on Habibs case if it doesn't. :D

If you read about them then you know that flatworkexit will kill them all and when they die they will release lots of toxins in your tank and kill everything else. So... you need to do more reading. I suggest you look for a predator of flatworms (if there is one) and get one or more of them.

Good luck, Kevin

Correct. I let the flatworms go WAY too long -- basically had a red mat covering most of my live rock. I'm talking thousands of the little beasties. Used FWE, vacuumed as many as possible as they died and ran a big hang-on carbon filter for the next few days. Didn't lose any livestock and there was no evidence of any biofilter damage, meaning no subsequent cyano/algae cycles. Follow the package directions and you should be fine.
