I plan to use flexible PVC (braided) in the sump area. Below are the specs on what I plan to use. Anyone see any issues??

■Constructed with non-toxic compounds
■NSF-51 and NSF-61 certified material
■Crystal clear - allows visual confirmation of product flow
■Longitudinally-reinforced to reduce elongation under pressure
■Light weight
■Self-extinguishing
■Non-marking
■Silicone-free
■Non-conductive
■Resistant to chemicals
■Compound hardness 73 ±3 Shore "A"

Applications:
"¢Food and beverage dispensing
"¢Deionized water
"¢Liquid food products
"¢Air and water lines
"¢Portable water transfer
"¢Air breathing lines
"¢Pneumatic lines
"¢Packaging machines

Thanks!!

Are you are talking about the clear flexible PVC tubing with the white crosshatch reinforcing threads running thru? If so I have used that before with no problems.

IMO if it is rated to be in contact with food & beverage for human consumption you will be fine using it in the tank.

Yes, it's the clear pvc. I figured since it was food safe I'd be fine, but just want to make sure. Thanks for the response!

I don't think that it is considered Flexible PVC. I think it is just Flexible Tubing. That said, I know of a couple of people that use it without and problems. I think you should be fine.

i think if you're using it with barb connectors you should be fine. The "real" flex pvc can be used with schedule 40 and 80 connectors using pvc glue

I have a couple hundred feet of what looks like the same stuff in 1" ID, mine was sold as vinyl @ Lowes... At any rate its fine to use with the aquarium.
