I use two of them on my 600g FOWLR tank. They are great filters... putting out 900gph at 50w. I bought them when my tank was FW and decided to keep them on the tank for added flow. I just recently started using one as a filter but after two weeks it wasnt dirty... the skimmer is doing a great job.

great filters i have one on my 300gal FOWLR. I leave it for a month before i clean it and its not even dirty, its full of pods. Mine is filled with biomax media

You would not need it on a reef tank. Take the money you would spend on it and put it towards a good skimmer or other piece of equipment.

I use one. Love the extra flow. I use it for carbon and gfo with some filter floss for filtering.
