Food

Did a search on their site for dealers and found that a LFS called Creative Aquariums of Tampa sells it, they're on Dale Mabry, also Faois and Coral Corral.

Your avatar explains it :-). I'm totally messing with you. Just a quick question, I'm asking because Im still new in the hobby. Is there a reason you prefer this food over others?

I'll have to give that a try. Do you use the coral blend or the original blend?

I used coral blend and loved it. Just very exspensive. I use coral blend because it has a much smaller partical size for my sps. If u don't have sps then use original

I target feed my Sps with all pumps off for 20 min then turned on 1 powerhead in display for another 20 min. Then turned back on all pumps. Do this when lights r out at night. That's when polyps on coral ihas most extention and r feeding

Coral Blend is good stuff - but I agree on the expense.

Maybe check out the BRS Coral Chili:

All the key ingredients are included in BRS Reef Chili:
Bio-engineered Zooplankton
Spray Dried Phytoplankton Freeze Dried Rotifers
Freeze Dried Copepods
Dried Daphnia
Spirulina Powder
Artemia Nauplii Replacement Diet

I typically use the Piscine Mysis & Cyclo-Peeze then I add to the same cup the reef chili while it all thaws.

Regardless whatever you are using for your staple food, the BRS Reef Chili is very cheap and lasts a long time.

Check out the 82 reviews on BRS for one single item. (crazy popular)

The Rod's Food is probably better quality since it isn't freeze dried, but then you have to break it up with a hammer or ice pick.

I wish they made their stuff in cube form.

I know there are a couple of members who make their own recipe to feed their reef to save on expense.

Maybe we can have some people post their "11 Secret Herbs & Spices".

Yes I am still smarting a bit after Saturday. I used it for a few years and recently had trouble locating any close to me. I use Rod's Original Blend. Both fish and corals very happy with it. Fish always very healthy no diseases and never had a fish refuse it.
