What camera did you use?? I am needing a new one and I am tired of blurry crappy pics from my digi camera.

Sony DSC-V1, but I'm not very impressed with it. I'm much more impressed with what comes from the lenses of the Canon owners out there. If I had it to do over again, I'd have never given the Sony a second look and gone directly to the Canon display.

Yeah, IME the sony's don't have the picture quality that even the old Canons do. Really wish I could afford a Canon SLR!

Also: I use the s400 with the underwater housing for extreme closeups, I have an sd450 for the pic from outside the tank :)

Well, imo you need something that allows you to set the following: Shutter, aperture, manual focus and exposure. I have taken some nice pics with my Canon S30 but my camera came out before the Digital Canon Rebels which is what I'd spend my money on. It's not cheap by any means but it would probably be a camera you have for a lifetime.

I have the Canon Digital Rebel XT with some lenses, tripod, etc. Frankly coming from a point and shoot it's been a STEEP learning curve and I have a long way to go. Still, when I manage to get a good shot, it's a thing of beauty :).

I really need to find the piece that holds the camera to the tripod, i seem to have misplaced mine. Its making it real difficult learning to take good pics without it.

Seems like the Canon Digital rebel has the most votes so far.... hmm wonder if the g/f would splurge on this one lol

If you are going to go DSLR, Canon or Nikon is the way to go. Check out the photography forum on RC. Lots of smart camera people on there.
