Can anyone tell me if this is friend or foe?

The picture is too small to be sure, but they look like flatworms. Some species attack corals and some are fairly benign. Regardless, they can reproduce and end up in the hundreds in your tank. There are reef safe medications (Flatworm Exit) that kill them, but do some research. I've heard that killing them off in large numbers can contaminate the tank and cause an ammonia spike.
 
Good call, Eileen - just looked it up on wetweb & it's: "flatworm/AKA Planaria" feeds on copeods & I've added many over the past weeks. They say it's harmless & will die off as my pod population diminishes.
 
really hard to see, but it could also be spongebobs little cousin the pineapple sponge ?

planaria are red in general.

is it moving ? or ..
