Found caulerpa in sump

I picked chaeto at the store and I found a few broken bits of green grape caulerpa in it. Looking closer I noticed that a very small part that has turned very pale almost white. Does this mean it has gone sexual and if so what should I do? should I just drain my sump?

I actually prefer using caulerpra in my refugium. It grows loads better than cheato for me at least. Plus I keep the light on it 24/7 and prune it regularly which keeps it from going asexual or getting out of hand. Plus my LFS always wants it as soon as I can grow it! Caulerpa can take over if not maintained so Chaeto is a better option for some people.

I second the fact that if it gets in your tank it can grow fast and be a nuisance. Very difficult to remove completely.
