Frag tank Cycle

Is it necessary to cycle a pure frag tank.. no fish .. Just lps and sps.. My reasoning is that with the absence of fish there will be no ammonia and therefore no nitrogen cycle. What say you ??

I still think a nitrogen cycle occurs.

If the frag tank is not plumbed to the main tank a cycle will occur.

+1 on having a cycle. You can speed things up however with live rock and using tank water from your display tank.
