free mantis!!!!

i was at my lfs when one of the workers was about to introduce a mantis into a tank of hungry triggers. i had always wanted a mantis, and our eyes met and we connected.....kinda, not really.

anyway i asked if i could keep it and they said yes, eager of course to get it away from themselves by anymeans possible. anyways he is about 2 inchs and is a bright red.

i have him in a little critter keeper with a small piece of lr, some sand and a cheap filter. he seems to like it

Congrats! I keep a red mantis of the same size in a 7-gallon bowfront next to my desk. She eats guppies, mollies, and shrimp pellets. Tank decor is 3 small pieces of live rock, 1" of live sand, and a few soft corals. Marineland Emperor on the back (spans the entire width of the tank) provides water movement and filtration.
