Frogspawn Lighting

I'm That Guy!!
Hey everyone just purchased my first of many LPS Corals... I have 2x175 metal halide lighting.. the guy at LFS said to put it in the sand and gradually bring it closer and closer to the light so they can adjust and you will be able to put it anywhere you want... My question is, is this true and how long between different levels of light, before moving closer...

Sounds about right. If the lights are dramacitcally different from where you bought them, definetely acclimate to the lights. I have heard people recommend about a week for every six inches if height.

Frogspawn seems to be tolerant of many different types of light. I have mine under 192W PC, but I bought it from a fellow who had them directly under 250 MH lighting. Start it on the sand, sure, but make sure none of the flesh is covered by sand.

For long term health what's the most amount of light frogspawns can handle? And how close to the light. Don't mean to steal your thread but I am thinking of adding a frogspawn to my tank but I am not sure if I have too much light. Thanks.
