Frogspawn On Sandbed OK?

The sand might bother the polyps touching it, and may encourage bristle worms to harass the irritated tissue. I would prop it up a little bit if possible (pick up a few bits of rubble rock or something- shouldnt be more than a couple bucks).

OMG... I was picturing 1 or 2 heads on the sand and was going to advise you to get it off the sand... having seen the picture, you can tell us how to successfully grow frogspawn.

no kidding...HOLY frogspawn ! you're right...I never woulda guessed!

There never seems to be one best thing for anything in the reef aquarium fun.

How did you place the frogspawn on the sand bed. Is it just laying on the sand with the heads in the air? I want to do the same thing but it is my first time with frogspawn so I do not want to do any damage. What about nas. snails moving it or knocking it over and the detrius and algaes that grow in the sand. Are there any concerns with doing this?

As long as only the skeleton is laying on the sand your fine, however, any tissue laying under the skeleton on the sand will die off and can cause infection. As long as you keep the heads from laying on the sand your fine. Nothing you can do about the snails.

I purchased a frogspawn today with about 10 heads. the skeleton is a couple of inches long. I just stuck the skeleton in the sandbed about an inch down. The heads are a couple of inches above the sandbed. Is this okay, I mean sticking the skeleton into the sandbed?
