Frogspawn Reproducing?

This morning I noticed my frogspawn doing something different and shortly after, I found this tiny bud on the sandbed below it. Is this a way of reproducing? This bud is very, very tiny. Will it grow and should I place it in a small cup to keep it from moving around and getting lost?
Thanks.

It has just released a polyp or it was hit/damaged by something. They typical melt away. It does not appear that there is any skeleton attached the polyp itself or am I inccorect there? if it has skeletal structure it has a chance.

Thanks. There is no skeleton attached and the polyp is much smaller than it appears -- only about the size of a few grains of sand. It just seemed strange because this morning two of the heads closed into a turban type form like Elephant Ear mushrooms do. I had never seen the frogspawn do that before. Usually if they close, they retract into their skeleton.
