I've got 2 spare Sedra 9000 needlewheels. Used, but in fine working condition. $75 each. The venturi's were modded to be enclosed in black PVC..pretty slick looking actually. I can get some pics if anyone wants them...They soaking at the moment to be cleaned up.

Mike, can these be used to upgrade a G3?? If so I'd like one....wait..75$? That can't be for the whole pump...just the needle wheel itself I'm guessing...

I don't know anything about the G3, but I threw it into google and came up with what looks like to be a "yes" to your question based on a few websites.

$75 for the pump, needle wheel, venturi and I'll even throw in the electrical cord :))). I think they're like $125 new...not sure though.

Ya I just checked premiumaquatics and the pump is about 100$...I had no idea they were that cheap. I'll wait for someone who has tried it to chime in here, if it does work on a G3 I'm definitely in for 1....

I don't have a G3 but I do have three of these running my 6' tall skimmer. I just replaced all three impellers as the best looking one was Ok at best. The third barley had any pins left on it. But once I replaced them, man does the skimmer foam now.

It's a homemade skimmer that's about 10" dia. and 6' tall. It takes all three pumps running just to push the water up to the point it will flow back out the output pipe. They work really good in my opnion.

Note that this also has a venturi built into the inlet side (hidden inside that black PVC fitting). I don't think the one from Premium has that.

Here's one of them:

Todd,

Are you doing anything special with it? Adding it to an existing skimmer...etc.?

I ask because one of the pumps has some fittings glued to the venturi that could make retrofitting it into something existing a little bit of work. The other just has the plain venturi on it...no fittings.

I was going to use it on my G3. Will the fittings interfere with that?

Thanks for the heads up,

Todd

I honestly have no idea, I've never even seen a G3. But, I can give you the one without any fittings...Just the raw venturi.

The G3 comes with a Sedra 5000 standard. I was upgrading the pump to allow the skimmer to work better for me. I know a standard 9000 will work on the G3 which is why I jumped on the thread :)

But to answer the question....I will take the standard one you have. Let me know when is good for you. I have to deliver my 75g tank to the city here in a bit. Maybe afterwards???

Todd

I will do that Larry. Looks like your girlfriend over here wants your lights also most likely. :)

Thanks,

Todd

No worries...I just keep finding expta parts. So I have bare venturi's or the enclosed ones with the fittings for both pumps.

Today would be a 50/50 shot. I'll PM you with my phone number.
