$450 Please have a very large size fish tank. I have raised this fish for three years now and it is 8 inches and hand fed. The fish needs more space then I can provide so I must say good bye. I will ship at buyers expense if need be. :fish1:

overview

The Dussumieri Tang, also known as the Eyestriped Surgeonfish, is a true standout in the show aquarium thanks to its friendly demeanor, impressive size, and elite status within the hobby. The Dussumieri Tang has distinctive orange stripes across its eyes, an orange/tan body, and wavy blue lines covering from head to tail. Its colors intensify in response to threats or to display moods.
In its natural habitat, the Dussumieri Tang is generally found 30 feet or deeper on seaward reefs. A 150 gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of water movement, large amounts of live rock to provide both plenty of swimming room, and territories within the live rock is necessary.

Although tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health. Offer dried seaweed tied to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed at least 3 times per week. Sea Veggies, Seaweed Salad and Ocean Nutrition are all ideal products and are very easy to use. These are great fish for controlling algae in the saltwater fish or reef aquarium.

Ya I might have to post him in the main forum to sell it. It's requirements are a bit much. Coral Corral has this same fish in their new big tank.

This is a 20,000 gallon aquarium at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. At the one minute mark you can see two fully grown adult Dussies!

I saw them last November. They were huge. Lots of fully grown, commonly kept fish in there that make you really rethink thinks!!

I wanted to clarify why I am asking a high price for this fish. Also this might help someone wanting to buy one. These fish as well as many other fish in the ocean go threw a physical change from a juvenile to adulthood. They will show a beautiful and dramatic color change as they age. Also the color change could take quit some time to fully shift. Each fish will change at different rates of speed/time which could take years, if it happens at all. The younger smaller Dussumieri can be easily bought at a far cheaper price. It will also cost much less to ship due to it's size. Also where the fish comes from can play a part into why it costs more. Sometimes they show a slight color variation by region. hope that helps.

here are some pics i took while there...

Tasted like snapper... Not anything special. Very beautiful fish in the wild. Good personality. If I had a tank anywhere big enough to house one I would. Good luck with the sale.
