So I got a great deal off of craigslist for a 55 with a 4 bulb T5-----but I immediately upgraded to a 6 bulb system and I would like to trade the 4 bulb fixture for some equipment
---I am mostly looking for a protein skimmer....maybe a powerhead/wavemaker ----if you have something fancier than the fixtures value---i would be ok with adding cash
now the bad news-----when I got the tank off the craigslist he mentioned something about how the switch controlling each ballast individually stopped working.....so he cut the wires and rewired it without the switch----and it works----you just have to turn on all 4 or nothing----but it could be fixed back to each ballast on its own switch with a lil wiring knowhow....
also! in my hands----only in a non vented canopy and only after 12+ hours of use---the heat makes 1 of ballast (2 or 4 lights) go out------i tested the lights out of a tank in vented air and it never happened-----when the ballast cools it will automatically come back on!

with the bulbs being pretty much new----about 2 months old----i would put the value of this guy at around 120 (mostly because of the 4 bulbs)----and a true steal for someone with a lil wiring/electronics knowhow
