Fuge newbie

I'm a newbie to the refuge section. I have a 500g tank and have a 125g 48x24x24 as a sump atm. I'm thinking about adding another 125g next(side by side) to it to set up as a fuge.I will prob.drill and connect them with 2- 2" bulk heads Being new to this is a 125g fuge 2 large and what would you put in it for ease of use and simplicty.

If i were you, id put in a DSB using oolitic sand (or another fine-grain sand) South Down if its available. Add a bunch of rock rubble to one side and add one or two 175 watt 6500K MHs and grow caulerpa and chaetomorpha That would be sooo nice

I really like the idea of connecting the sump and refugium with a couple bulkheads. You are planning on having some sort of pump on one of the connections for flow?

yes prob. a amp 2100 or dart for both 125's back to a 4 way into the tank

the 4 way will be the closed loop. why would you use both macros instead of just 1?
