galaxea close-up pics?

A while back my LFS had a small galaxea frag, and after checking it out for a couple weeks I went back and bought it. I've searched around for a good ID, but all of the pics I find are of a whole colony, and small pics at that. Also I don't see many posts, if any about galaxea.

My batteries for my camera are charging, so I can't get a pic right now, but does anyone else have any good close-ups of galaxea?

Mine is brown tentacles with white tips. So far it appears to be doing well, haven't seen any sweepers though (dont know if thats a good thing or not). I've spot fed it zooplankton a little, but for the most part it seems to just be filter feeding. When I can I will post a pic, but in the meantime it would be nice to see some other people's pieces.

Heres a night shot of mine with flash. Not real close up but shows it all. I`ve had this since I first set up my 65g tank and it has moved to my 90 system now. Has grown nicely over the past yr and a half to a 8" x 5 " colony

absolutely gorgeous. I wonder if mine is a ball forming or branching... I just got done inspecting it and it appears to have a couple itty bitty baby polyps forming :) Of course, the frag is only about 1" x 1" with about 6-8 adult polyps.
I'm currently battling a good spot for it where it likes the flow. In one place it seems to have too much flow on one side, and another place it appears to not wave much. Should it have a lot of movement in the tentacles, or is just a little waving good?

Mine as you can see in the pic is on the sand in the center of the tank. It gets medium flow during the day and will mildly sway in the movement. I had it in higher flow when I first got it and the polyps seemed not to extend as much. Be careful as it grows it can send out some very long sweepers so place it away from items it could touch and sting. Mine really does not send them out that much but at night when it does its really a sight to see.

I may have to try on the bottom. I've got a Coralife 96w 50/50 and an Orbit 96w 50/50 over the 30gal that its in. I just hope that will be enough light for the bottom. I guess all I could do is try, and if it doesnt like it, it'll show.

Also, do you spot feed the colony, or does it basically just eat whatever is on the menu when you feed everything else?

To tell the truth I have never spot fed it. It usually catches some of the food I stick in the tank for the others. I use Cyclopeeze, Oyster Eggs, DTs, brine, Frozen foods for the fish and etc. I used to put food directly on top of it but the shrimp and fish would usually take it..

I have noticed it does like phytoplankton the best and reacts to it.

Sounds like I may be on the right track then. I've been feeding frozen mysis and brine, Sweetwater zooplankton and sometimes some pieces of fresh shrimp, and DT phyto. That is all on a random cycle with Formula I and II for the fishies. I recently started trying Seachem Reef Plus too. Of course, all of this is on a random "Today's Special" schedule, usually once or twice a week the frozen, sometimes mixed in with some flake, sometimes with some phyto, etc. Pretty much never the same thing 2 days in a row.

I have a small galaxia frag myself. It has grown very nicely for me. I feed it mysis and cyclopeeze from time to time, but it seems to catch quite a bit without me spot feeding it. mascencerro,
I have 260w of pc light over a 40 long and it is happy on the bottom of my tank.
