my clam seems healthy and I've had it for around 4 months.
the opening is pretty wide latly and was wondering if this is normal for Dereasas. the temp has been warm. 85c
Also, how does the clam move? I notice a area were sand is sort of dug out around the clam when he moves a bit.[at night]

Hi John,

IMO, 85 might cause a little discomfort for him.

Yes they will dig into the sand by opening and closing and if you aren't careful he will dig until he hit bottom and then attach. If you are going to keep him there, you might place a flat piece of rock under the sand so when he hit that he will attach and not the tank.
