Gen-X PCX-70HP?

I wanted to know if a 1 inch and a 3/4 drain from a Megaflow aquarium be enough flow to supply a Gen-X PCX-70HP pump? The Gen-X pumps 1537 GPH. Has anyone ever done this?

These will both be drains for the Gen-X and I will bring a 1 inch return over the top of the tank.

You'll probably have to turn down the pump some, depends on how you plumb the return (90's, 45's, etc.).

Isn't that a pressure rated pump? Just curious, why do you want a HP pump? Is your sump far away from your tank? For a simple sump return, you could get away with a non hp pump, less power consumption. Just a thought.

Think about the new ReeFlo Snapper..it draws about 95 watts and can be valved back without hurting the pump
