Gerber's Saltwater Werehouse?

Has anyone been to Gerber's Saltwater Werehouse? If so, how is it? Fish healthy? wide variety? good prices? I live in Columbus and I am debating whether I should go check them out. But I wanted to see if anyone here has been there before I make the long drive. Thanks in advance!

I haven't been there in years. It was kinda neat 5 or so years ago. I do still get there weekly emails.

Great selection of fish and inverts. A little pricy. All appear to be healthy. I think it would be worth your drive.

I used to go there fairly often - when I was establishing my tank. Haven't been in several years.

If it is still like it was, I would say it is worth a trip.

Decent selection sometimes, but much like Phishy's over priced for what it is IMHO.
Phishy is good but IMHO, they're not as good as they once were. I noticed lately the quality of their corals and livestock has gone down. They still get a few nice things once in a while but most isn't all that great anymore.

I've just been to Gerbers about 3 week ago and I wouldn't waste my time unless your looking for BIG fish. Most of what they have in at any time seems healthy and they have a average selection of generic corals but their prices have went up dramatically in the last few years.
Compaired to Phishys they are not even close to the selection or health of the animals.

Forgot to mention that if you want to make a road trip to a saltwater store go to Tropicorium in Romulus Michigan. It's just south of Detroit. Look up tropicorium.com

That pretty much sums it up. If your looking for places to go to in the Dayton area, try Aquariums Etc, Marine Solutions, Coral Ranch, and we have a new one opening in a week - Aquatic Specialists. They all sponsor our club over here and are much better options.

To be specific, what I'm looking for are some big fish for my 150gal FOWLR, no corals or inverts. Just some nice big fish like a Male Crosshatch, a stars & stripes puffer, fish like that. I plan to separate my current 150gal in two large tanks and these new fish will join a Sargassum trigger, a foxface, lunare wrasse and queen angel. No corals or inverts survive with these fish for too long. :)
