So I've had a Yellow Watchman and Tiger Pistol shrimp in my 55G for about a month, now and I think I wan't to get rid of the shrimp and/or the Goby. My tank is forever cloudy from the Shrimps incessent digging. My question is if I get rid of the Shrimp and keep the Goby, will the Goby dig enough to to make my tank cloudy, do YWG dig or sift sand? Should I get rid of them both? I feel bad seperating them, the've bonded. :)

Personally, if they've made a bond, I wouldn't break it. Either both stay, or go. But as for the YWG, they don't DIG per say, more like they take a mouthfull of sand, spitting it back out their gills, where ever they are. Leaving these really annoying sand piles. At least that's what my YWG does. Every couple of days I have to smooth out 3" mounds all over my tank!

Yeah I kinda feel the same way but even if I give both of them to a FLS whats to gurantee that someone will buy both at once? I wish I knew someone else in the area that might want them

My YWG doesnt dig at all (I guess he is the supervisor.. LOL)... Once he made his home, he doesnt venture more than a 9" from his burrow for anything.....

Our YWG is all over the tank! He loves his little home, but if I go into my bedroom real fast, I can see a line of pure yellow dash across the tank, with a trail of kicked up sand following behind it! If I go into my room real slow and calm, he is usually on the opposite side of the tank from his home, and he will slowly glide home if I am slow. He lets me hand feed him if he's in the mood, though I've never tried to pet him. Aside from the various 3" mounds of sand every couple days, he's an awesome fish, and my tank is never cloudy, maybe cuse he doesn't dig and sling. He chomps and spits :D
