Getting back into the hobby

I've been out of the hobby for several years now due to my work requirements & being out of town a lot.

My work schedule has changed & I'm looking to get back into the hobby again.
Updated my e-mail & it looks like my old post count is still active!

Cool hope you can offer advice to the real newbies!!
Yeah I probably can help out somewhat with older style set-ups, But the equipment & supplies they have out there now days is pretty much all new to me.

Lighting has changed quite a bit since I had my tank set-up, LED's were just coming out when I got out of the hobby.

What was your tank setup when you got out of the hobby. If you have any pics that would be cool too.

Thanks

My last system was built into a wall so I had quite a bit of room behind the tank.

The first task is to build a stand which will also have an area for a refugium & a sump.

You're going to hate that. My wife just let me plumb my tank through the wall & into my "lab". I'll never go back to an under tank sump.

Welcome back.

Unfortunately it seems as though I lost the main tank pictures on my computer :sad2: Probably got them on a disc somewhere :rolleye1:

I did manage to come up with a couple pictures of the plumbing that was in the room behind the main tank.

My system was a multi tank set-up consisting of a 65gal. main tank with three 32gal filter tanks! Refugium / Pre-filter / Sump, Also had a 20gal. top-off/water change tank.

the main 65gal. tank was built into a wall in the basement & I had access to the back side from another room which made the extra tanks & maintenance really easy.

what size tank were you thinking? :D
Probably around 90 or 120 gal.

My last tank (main tank) was an old style 65gal. that was 48" wide by 12" deep & 26" tall. The extra deep part of the tank was nice visually, But the 12" width was tricky to place live rock & to keep clean.
