Getting started with Triton ?

Hey folks. I'm considering a reboot for my system and am looking at the Triton method of doing things. I'm just at a point in my life where I can pay more attention to my tank.

The initial test is $50 and gives a pretty comprehensive rundown of things based on what I've seen from others. My question is how often is it necessary to do those $50 tests? I can see how it would get quite expensive (which is about right for this hobby haha). Do you just do the test and then address what needs addressing with specific tests?

I guess I'm asking how to get started with Triton on an already established tank (3 years old). I appreciate any wisdom you can offer.
