as I cannot figure out how to post in my gallery....but I think this works...

I noticed in watching your history of live rock movie that you dumped the original rock into the water using a crane. I notice now that you are hauling it out in 5,000 pound loads. Am I mistaken in believing that regulations now prevent you from using a crane and that all aqua-cultured rock must be now be placed by hand?

Our first deposit was one million pounds via barge and crane....our second deposit was three million pounds using the same equipment.....

Very costly, but very effective. Can still use the barge, but cost about 50K just for the equipment...for three days..

That was when we had unlimited access to the coral rock from the Bahamas.....that rock is now gone....

For the last 10 years I have been going to South Florida to pick up the finest quality seed rock available, boatload by boatload....see in the pictures how nicely shaped and full of holes the rock is.....

Have made 450 trips doing it this way, about 5000 pounds a trip...

Is not easy, Drag the boat 7 hours to the Keys, takes a day...takes another day to collect and put the rock on the boat by hand.....

Takes a day to recuperate, then another day to drive it back to Tampa, then another day to take it out into the Gulf and deposit it....so 5K pounds is a weeks work....week in...week out! And last week I had three tires blow out on the trailer on the way home...always an adventure!

Yeah! We loves the rocks!! 9 months now and looking great. Quick question liverock. Do you have an opinion about sand sifting stars in tanks (120g) w/ your sand? Thanks.
