Gfo on sand bed, problem?

So having the 28 gallon crash (separate post) wasn't enough, the 45 gallon, in which I have started gfo about 4 weeks back, had a mini gfo explosion. Did a short water change and I guess when the reactor turned off and back on, the filter floss must have sifted and some gfo got pushed to the main tank. Not a ton, but enough that you can notice it. I have blown off all the coral to push any gfo off them but can't get it out of the sand (no water available to swap out). How problematic is this? Also, can gfo cause an increase in brown film algae? I've been battling it since the gfo reactor was added, can't find any other changes.. maybe coincidence. Thanks

How does everything look? If all is well you might as well just try and remove what you can over time. I really don't think it's going to cause any problems to the tank in the long run though.

Corals seem happy. Will get out what I can when I water change this weekend. That gfo is frustrating. Despite double filter floss at top and bottom of reactor it still gets through. Tempted to put in a bag in the reactor but that defeats the purpose. This can really be a frustrating hobby at times . . .
