GHL Doser 2 Owners Club

The USB or wifi is just to program the unit, right? Once it is programmed, will it execute that program without either connection? Cannot seem to,figure out how to enable wifi, guess I will have to download the manual :)

Boy oh boy, instructions a bit lacking ..... finally got the thing connected via USB, but cannot for the life of me get wifi or LAN to work. Seems like it ought to be simple, but it isn't. I follow the instructions in the manual, setting the IP address, submask, etc., hit save, let the unit sit for a few minutes. Then, with the Ethernet cable attached, I remove the USB cord ..... and nothing .... I get a 'communications error'. Any ideas?

Hi
On the new firmware release it has auto network detect. I would suggest connecting to USB and then installing the new firmware and running the new software

wow feel quite disappointed now, ordered the GHL mega set and a doser 2 and GHL told me deliveries wouldn't be till middle of 2015! so i went for the current 3 pump doser.

How irritating! :-(

Yes the slave Doser 2 does not release until later this year for ProfiLux Users.

BUT 99% of the functionality of the stand alone doser 2 you get when you buy a profilux so the only thing you lose are the stepper motors for less than 1ml dosing.

OK, thanks for the suggestion. My tolerance for frustration was exceeded so I just deeded to run it with a longer USB cable. I doubt I'll need to be fiddling with it though anything other than the computer anyhow.

ahh I see its just the stand alone doser 2 thats available? I'm a newbie regarding GHL equipment :-)

I just set mine up and at this point can not figure out how to setup the wifi but it seems ok for now just loading the program via USB and then disconnecting USB and letting it run.

Are there any issues with not having it connected via USB all the time or is this just needed to change the program?

No problem at all, but do ask for tech help if you are not overly familiar with wifi set up, the support is there for all.

Also the new firmware comes with auto network find option, which is as close to plug and play wifi set up you will get.

Thanks. I just haven't had time to mess around with it. I tried to briefly set it up as an access point for the app but it kept giving me an error on the "key" (the part I set, right?) but I didn't give it much thought as I need to just get it dosing because I'm leaving town in a few days.

After you finished setup the wifi you have to create a new connection in GHL Control Center.
For this you go to Administrate... in the top menu and create a new doser connection:

Thanks.

I can honestly say the quality of the doser is second to none. After using aqualifters and chinese knockoffs this is truly a work of art. It's like going from a Honda Accord to a MB S550, truly a fine piece of kit.
