Gigas and feeding????

Hi, my LFS has (2) Gigas clams 2.5 to 3 inches long aquacultured for $32.00 each. My question is would the clam die if I did not feed it? Thanks

Depends on what type of lighting you have. Clams do not need to be fed. They primarily live off of light

*Hint hint* what about all I read about "baby" clams 2" and smaller?

Anyways, i have 2 175w 20k MH, 2 110w VHO 1 white 1 atentic, and 2 65w atentic PC's

No, clams always need to be fed. They never stop needing food. While after a certain size they do live primarily from the light, they always need solid food to some degree. What's in the water column at that point is often sufficient.
