Glass Canopy on Reef Ready Tank?

Will a standard glass canopy for a 75 gal. tank work on an 75 gal. All-Glass reef-ready tank? I just got my first reef-ready tank but I'm storing it at a friends so can't look at it.

I might be getting this standard stand/hood as shown here:

And planned to install these lights in the hood somehow:

I'm a little concerned about the fixture being so close to the water and exposed to splashing. Do I need to be?

How do you like those cree lights? I ordered 2 of those a couple days ago, also mounting them above a 75 gallon, i will mount then 5 inches above the water

I don't have them yet. I did see an RC thread earlier in which people who have them said they really liked them.

How are you going to mount yours?

I will probably mount them to the top of the canopy, depends how heavy they are, if really heavy. I might make a separate mount for them, because anyways the top of the light must have free space for the cooling fans

Although not ideal, I would also cut the top of the canopy and set them on top. You could probably add some crown molding to the to of the canopy to hide the boxes, but this will give you a better height off of the water and reduce the splash effect.

I'd also recommend against using the glass canopies as they'll prevent gas exchange and eventually get covered in water due to evaporation.

As for if they fit, yes. I had some from a 75 standard and used them on my 90 AGA for about a month until I realized they were severely limiting gas exchange and light from passing through.

As I'm thinking this through, I'm realizing it wouldn't work to attach the light fixtures to the top of the canopy because the whole top lifts up when I'd need to get into the tank and the lights would go with it. *sigh* I was trying to avoid hanging the lights from the ceiling because I believe where I'm moving to has a vaulted ceiling where the tank will go.
