Thoughts on size of tank

180 or 220.? The question in wether or not to go with 24" or 30"?

So, give me the Good, Bad, and the Ugly.

30" deep is tough to clean if you have short arms....or even if you have longer arms. Also lighting is a tough part too, 400w over 250w to get further penetration.

The good:

Large enough to submerge your entire head in while wearing a mask to enjoy the view for awhile.......

Our old 240g was 25" deep and an inwall tank. That was pretty tough at times to get down to the bottom. But also to reach down and in towards the back of the tank, like when something falls under the rockwork. I wouldn't go more than 24"T, but I would consider a really wide tank, like 36" or more.

I have had both and I will never go less than 30 again. You could use 250 de instead of 400 se.

But........ Those Tall/Show tanks look so sweet!....... Price might be a factor.

Acrylic 180 for the same price as a 220 glass.

To many decisions to make grrrrrrrrrrr...

First, decide how deep you can go and still reach the bottom. For me, 27" is about as far as I can reach, and that's exactly how deep my tank is.
