OK, No one hangs out in any other forums except this and newbie land.
About three or four weeks ago I added a six spot goby to my tank. He promptly dug himself a hole under a rock where he would go at night. A kind of home base if you will. Well, today I was moving some rock around and accidentaly blocked his enterance with a shell. So he went to work making another home under another rock. When he finished clearing out a cave, he came out and began building a large mound next to the opening. Not in front of it, but next to it, like he was decorating his front door. He also took all the sand for this mound from one area where there is now a crater. Anyway, I know they like to make caves to hide in, but is it normal for them to build mounds around the opening? Is it for protection or maybe concealment? He didn't do it with his first cave.
