Goldflake Angel

Anyone with experiences of this guy in a reef? Not a ton of info out there on this fish so anyone with experience would be great.

Also how would this fish be as a candidate for my tank. He would be final fish added to my 150. Current fish: Lg Atlantic Blue Tang, Yellow Tang, Sm Sailfin, Female Wantanabe Angel, a few small fish.

I would worry about your yellow giving it the tail whip. Also in a 36" footprint you don't have much swimming room with the existing fish list.

Like most larger angles they aren't the best for a reef. They do best when you get them small. You'll want to feed often(several times a day). Make sure to QT and treat for flukes if needed. Also they will commonly feed on polyps and lps like Blastos and acans.

My yellow is only 2-3 inches and hasn't got the mean yellow tang demeanor(I had one that did). The boss of the tank is the Atlantic, at least to the other 2 tangs he did some tail nipping. The Wantanabe has been a little rough on the smaller fish added.

I'm looking at getting one in the 3-4 inches range which means I'd have multiple years before he gets very large. I'm not planning on upgrading for a good while(Probably 3 years or so, I've been in this hobby since '04). Generally I feed heavy twice a day, and the only aggression happens when new fish are added. I thought I had room for one more decent sized fish, what do you think? Also, are you mentioning the softie picking from experience or just normal angel behavior?

Your tank is pretty full with that footprint, and some of the fish will outgrow it quickly, like the sailfin. I'd pass on the goldflake. How about some centropyge angels?
